NGED
Network Design Planner
Continuing in my role as a Grade 6 network planner within the NGED distribution arm of National Grid I covered new network designs, new generation and load connections alongside major network reinforcement schemes including several large Amenity projects, working with various stakeholders (AONB, National Trust, National Parks). I have also been heavily involved in a unique joint partnership scheme with Openreach, NGED and the local Community (Mortehoe in North Devon) to improve the Heritage coast by putting the networks underground and improving power supplies and telecom connections

Cable Jointer, Stores Manager, Network Planner
After Jointing on the HV and LV networks I took over the running of the local engineering stores in Taunton.
Whilst managing the stores I did a BTEC in Electrical Engineering and then took on a network planning role for WPD
1990-1999
SWEB
Cable Jointer
I joined SWEB as an apprentice in 1990, upon completion of my multi-discipline training I became a Underground Cable Jointer working on both the Low Voltage and High Voltage distribution systems
